Typical starting strength by age

Age	Starting strength
40 to 44	+0.75 to +1.00
45 to 49	+1.00 to +1.50
50 to 54	+1.50 to +2.00
55 to 59	+2.00 to +2.25
60 and over	+2.25 to +2.75

Ranges are the common over-the-counter guidance for presbyopia. Screen use at 60 to 70 cm usually wants about half a diopter less than close reading.
